2-Butyn (dimethylacetyleen, crotonyleen of but-2-yne) is een alkyn met de chemische formule CH3C≡CCH3. Het wordt kunstmatig geproduceerd en is een kleurloze, vluchtige, scherpe vloeistof bij standaardtemperatuur en -druk.
2-Butyn wordt, samen met propyn, gebruikt om gealkyleerde hydrochinonen te synthetiseren bij de totale synthese van vitamine E.
